The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is among the most popular journeys in Nepal. The Annapurna region is located in northwestern Nepal and is home to several of the highest peaks in the world. Embarking on this once-in-a-lifetime trek, you will pass through ethnic villages as well as dense rhododendron and bamboo forests until you reach the breathtaking Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters. At the end of the trek, you will find yourself surrounded by pristine mountains that form a natural amphitheatre.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins from Nayapul via Ghorepani. Traveling through Ghorepani allows your body to gradually adapt and acclimatize to higher altitudes. One major stopping point is Poon Hill, a famous viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the majestic peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
During the first few days, the trail leads through terraced hillsides and lively forests, followed by dense subtropical vegetation. As you approach Annapurna Base Camp, the landscape changes to alpine meadows and rocky terrain. Finally, you ascend to the base camp—a glacial basin that feels like a natural mountain fortress. From here, you can see Machapuchare (6,997 m), Annapurna I (7,219 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Annapurna III (7,555 m), Tent Peak (5,663 m), Gandharba Chuli (6,250 m), Gangapurna (7,454 m), and countless other mesmerizing peaks.
After reaching base camp, we trek down to Jhinu Hot Springs, a natural muscle reliever and skin cleanser. On the final day of the trek, we descend to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara, where we explore the city’s natural beauty. The views throughout this trek are unforgettable, and equally enriching is the cultural experience of Gurung and Magar villages along the trail.
